even president obama has signed a law that dismantled provisions of his health care law. to find commonsense the present democrats in congress continue to push forward with implementation of this disastrous law, who wants it? members of obama's own party are doubting how it will work? senator maximum bachus -- baucus is a train wreck. and rockefeller said it's overly complicated. insurance companies don't want it, the majority of the public doesn't want it, organized labor doesn't want it. i can tell you the small business owner of nearly 42 years, i can tell you small businesses don't want it. no business will run their business like the president is running this government and the massive health care overall. can i say from firsthand experience, the small business, backbone of our economy are hurting. as a job creator i know how business can no longer hire. they can't take risks that would grow the economy. i have heard from people all over my district who have work available and positions ready to fill but they can't hire anyone or else they risk going over the number

rothfus: three years later, president obama's health care law has proven to be a string of broken promises. we are seeing premiums rise. one business in my district expects a 26% increase in its premiums totaling more than $30,000. that's $30,000 that cannot go to increasing wages for workers. another company in my district with 17 employees expects a 19% premium increase. with an annual cost of more than $20,000. companies are being forced to change their health plans and pay more for them. some companies may even drop their plans and put their employees in the obamacare exchanges. .

when president obama's health care law, his proposal, became law, 2,400 pages became law, he told us that it was going to lower costs, improve quality, lower premiums, cover anyone that had a pre-existing condition, and for those under 26 they would now have health care. but today as we pull back the curtain on this law, what we see, what the american people see, is that obamacare is actually making it worse. the president promised that premiums would go down. in fact, he said that premiums on the average american family would go down $2,500. what we are seeing already is that for the average american family premiums have gone up by $3,000. the president promised that those with pre-existing conditions would now be covered. unfortunately, less than 1% of those with pre-existing conditions were able to sign up for the very program that was made available to them before the president announced they were out of money. the president promised that his plan was going to lead to all americans being -- having access to health insurance. and yet c.b.o. has already analyzed that when this law

obviously president obama has been re-elected. this is his law and he's never going to allow repeal to get past his desk, but that doesn't mean house republicans don't want to make a statement and make it clear to the public that they continue to fight this law. >> how many times have house republicans tried to repeal the law? >> this will be the 37th vote to repeal a portion of the law. there's been 37 votes, most of them were in the last three years, but this will be only the third time they've attempted full repeal of the law. >> what are republicans saying specifically about the health care law that they say hurts the economy? >> well, you know, it's a lot of things that are going to start to go into effect early next year, there's going to be requirements on employers to either provide coverage or pay penalties. we're already seeing some insurance rates announced this summer for next year. they're likely going to be increases in rates. they say that's going to hurt the public so that's why they want to continue to put attenti

how did president obama convince the people to go along with this scheme. he looked in the camera lens and promised two thing. he pledged that this law would cut costs for american family. and he promised that it would make health care more affordable. now i could stand up here and talk about all of the other economic dangers posed by the so-called affordable care act like the ever-mounting costs of implement eags, the instability it causes in programs that seniors relie on. the fact that this bill contributes substantially to the insurmountable debt we're leaving to our children and grandchildren. but that's not foremost in the minds of those individuals that i represent along the highway river in eastern and southeastern ohio. as the american people continue to search for good-paying jobs, families in my district are trying to figure out how to stretch their paychecks to cover another trip to the grocery store. or buy clothes for their kids. or purchase another tank of gas for their car. and now we're see regular ports that indicate most families will hav
